At one point it occurred to me that I am the same age as Elvis was at his death. Talk about a quick glass of ice water poured down your back. Ronnie McDowell had a song he wrote for Elvis to record as though he was still here to record it. Then I started thinking of all the people we've lost way to young and what they may have done had they lived. I guess with all of the Heath Ledger gossip going on this week it was kinda floating around in my brain. It's all so incredibly sad...John Lennon, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Buddy Holly, and so many more on the music side...then the actors - James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, John Candy, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, River Phoenix, and now Heath Ledger. These people gave us so much...so with this flowing through my thoughts I looked up and saw the other side of the spectrum...The Jordanairs started in 1948 and still sound great.
So it was a strange thought process my brain went through...not sure what it really means. But I don't think things always need to MEAN something...I enjoyed the concert and I lament for the things that could have been.
On a lighter note - OMG the Elvis impersonators in the crowd who were lining up for the Jordanairs autographs! It was hysterical to watch!!!
:) Sorry the Evil Kitty sometimes makes an appearance and I just can't help it!
