Weekend?

I have decided that my life has one truth - there will either be an abundance of activity needing done at the same time or none at all. Lately it's been the abundance one. So this may get a little wordy - trying to catch up...

Thursday we signed the lease for our new apartment - and then I had to go sit in it for hours waiting on the cable installer as I had made an appointment 2 weeks ago for them to be there on move in day. As I was running around in panic mode to make sure that if I was sitting in an empty apartment with nothing but my computer and an aircard I had to make sure of a few things like water and toilet paper (both should be self explanatory). Sarah volunteered to take 1/2 day off and drive me to the apartment and sit with me. She told me she would bring a card table and chairs so that we could be semi-comfortable.

At the walk through we three (Jeff, Sarah and myself) identified various dings with the apartment (pre-existing stains and scuffs) so that when we moved out we would not be charged for these things...but the most drastic ding was the frozen air conditioner! As anyone in Florida knows - you cannot function in an apartment with no AC. The girl from the office put in an order to have it fixed immediately and Jeff went on his way back to work.

Sarah treated me to yummy Chinese food and back to the apartment to wait for the repairman and the installer (sounds like really bad porn). Once back there she surprised me with a car load of items for my new place - Water, soda, gum (her favorite), tissues, dog treats (Cabal's favorite) soda, straws, towels, air freshener and various others. She told me she was setting the level of expectation! LOL She is truly a gem and I'm grateful to have her as a friend. Everyone would be lucky to know someone like her! The repairman from the complex arrived to fix the AC (ew 4 inches of ice on it) and the cable installer finally arrived shortly before 5PM. Followed by another installer who's job it must be to just check up on the first installer - he obviously couldn't stand that we just ignored him and it was working on his last nerve, so he tried to get noticed...but we just continued to be ghouls and ignored him as much as possible. Jeff arrived later with taco's and then the day ended.

Friday, I took my son to the Dr. for a follow up visit from his pneumonia - they couldn't find his chart and a 9:15 appointment had us leaving at almost 11:00 with no information. ARGH I hate the medical system in this country. He then helped me the rest of the day moving various items from the house to the apartment. Later he helped Jeff move items from our studio which we are closing to our storage unit for use later.

Saturday dawned early as we moved two loads of items to the apartment and then Jeff wanted to go to Orlando for lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. He said it had been such a stressful couple of weeks that we should get away for a few hours...and I agreed. But I knew he was up to something because he was way to worked up to get out of there on time and he kept asking when I last heard from our friends in Albany. Well the surprise was that they were both in the state and we ended up driving across the state to Melbourne to see them. (I'll post pictures later). We arrived back in Tampa around 11:00PM and straight to bed.

Sunday was up early - Jeff went to studio to work on some things there and I started consolidating items at that house for more trips to the apartment. Jeff called me around 9:00AM to remind me that it was daylight savings time and he was ahead by an hour! A pleasant surprise for him. We also had to make a trip to KB and Jaime's to pick up assorted Halloween items for storage. Once those trips were finished it was over to my sister's house for the Packer / Chief's game. YAY Packer's are 7-1!!! After game was quick trip back to move more items - my oldest son came along this time to move furniture. After many trips we almost have everything moved. We were able to stay at the apartment last night (felt a bit like a hotel but that will fade) and got to bed around 11:30PM.

Hopefully tonight will be earlier... and that's pretty much what I did for the weekend...what did you do?
