Hello again....

Well I haven't written anything since November - so here's a quick breakdown...

1. I lost my job the first week of December due to a RIF (Reduction in Force) aka layoff. I spent 3 days in tears because every time I got close to my computer another person who had just found out would IM me their outrage. Several of my friends were let go the same day - all of them were very talented and cared about their jobs. Sometimes things aren't fair as my HR Rep told me on my way out the door.

2. I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time in that depression because 3 days later my oldest son was in a car wreck...he fractured a vertebrae in his neck. I spent several days at the hospital with him and then several more taking care of him here. He has to wear a neck brace for possibly 12 weeks - which is not good for a 22 year old. Hard to find out you aren't invincible...

3. We finally got a lease on a building...we are in the process of creating a community arts center. Hooray finally a bit of good (make that GREAT news!) It's lots of hard work ahead of us but we're all looking forward to officially opening.

4. A few family medical issues - Jeff's aunt has to have an angioplasty (maybe someday I'll write about it) and my mother found out that she has a problem with a heart valve. The only way to correct is surgery but due to her other medical conditions she is not a candidate for the surgery...still trying to figure out what that means.

5. Jeff took me to Disney for my birthday - it was the most wonderful day. We stayed at a hotel on Disney property and had a great time. It was probably the best birthday I've ever had.

6. Took Sprinkles out to dinner for her birthday - what started as a dinner for the two of us quickly became dinner for 5 as more friends wanted to spend the time with her, a lot of people love her.

This brings us almost current...

7. Jeff has severe lower back strain and can only move with great difficulty- so this week has been spent helping him. I love him dearly and hate to see him in this pain. Hoping it starts to feel better soon.

There are other things I could write about - we had our annual Christmas party...spent Christmas day with Friends...etc. but it's 4:30AM and I'm a little tired so I'll write again soon.

PS: still looking for new job so if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
